Atherton was previously the Chief Marketing Officer of Anime Ltd., Europe's premiere boutique distributor for Japanese animation, leading go-to-market campaigns for titles like One Piece Film: Red. Before that, Atherton spent most of a decade at Crunchyroll, where he played a key role in evolving the brand from a start-up to the industry's most dominant player. His final role was as Director of Audience Development, overseeing social media, curation, and news for the English-speaking world, with brand leadership on the promotion of titles such as Re:Zero, Yuri!!! on Ice, and Mob Psycho 100. His teams' efforts were recognized by The Drum, The Shorty Awards, and The Webby Awards, as well as winning Digiday's “Best Social Media Team” prize in 2019.

She earned her Master of Science in Media Management at the Gabelli School of Business.

Kayode’s background in finance and love of anime since childhood make him perfectly positioned as an analytics associate for Whitebox Entertainment. His previous roles in banking, focused on supporting tech and media companies have equipped him with a deep understanding of creating and deciphering financial models that support industry growth. Now, he brings these skills to the anime and entertainment industry to help find data-driven insights to the complex anime landscape.

Born in the entertainment capital of the world, Burbank, California, Leah spent her formative years calling many different places home. After resettling in Los Angeles, she graduated from UC Davis with a BA in Political Science (Honors) and minor in Japanese. During her undergraduate studies, Leah interned at a law firm and conducted research on a variety of topics, including copyright law for Japanese media. Leah was also the Vice President of Public Relations for Davis Anime Club, one of the largest anime clubs in the West Coast. Now a candidate for a Master’s in Global Thought at Columbia University, she focuses on global governance, Japanese culture, and marketing.
Associate
Born in the Philippines and raised in New York City, Miguel Martinez got their BA in Astrophysics with a concentration in East Asian Language and Culture at Columbia University before pursuing a doctorate in theoretical astrophysics at Northwestern University. Their specialization is studying the way things in space move (dynamics), whether they're alien exoplanets or violent black hole collisions in the densest environments in the Universe. Having been trained in high performance computing, they are excited to take their experience distilling the results of gigantic computer simulations to the world of anime. On the side, Miguel is also the co-founder and president of the Midwest Naginata Federation and teaches the Japanese martial art of naginata in Chicago.
